Our weekly documentary film curated by the editorial team at 21WIRE.
This documentary is about the early days of the war in Donbass, which has now been going for 8 years, but with most of the world turning a blind eye to the suffering and tragedy which began to unfold after the US-backed Maidan coup d’etat in Kiev in February 2014. Filmmaker Yana Yerlashova traveled on location to the war zone in Donbass, and spoke to both to the people there, including local veterans who fought in WWII and who compare what they have witnessed in this new conflict, and also how the then ‘rebels’ from the DPR and LPR felt about having to stand up in the fight against fascism in their lands.
