Peter Robinson is a television host, political commentator and Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, California, and hosts the institute’s podcast Uncommon Knowledge. He was a speechwriter for President Reagan, and helped craft the 1987 Brandenburg Gate speech, and has written numerous books on American politics. In this Direct episode, Robinson talks about the effects of COVID on the outcome of the 2020 election and how the pandemic may have cost Trump’s presidency, the rising threat to individual liberty and free speech in the US reflected in the polls, and the qualities that are needed now in a president of the United States in a time of rising totalitarian threats.
