On the morning of April 11, 2019, WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, was arrested by the London Metropolitan Police inside the Ecuadorean Embassy. Subsequently it was revealed by the US Department of Justice that they would seek his extradition to the United States to face federal charges of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion.
