As the dreaded polar vortex plunges temperatures to new record lows in the continental US, the hysterical anti-Russian hyenas in the media seem to have located the real source of the threat.
On Wednesday night, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow went on a conspiratorial rant that would make even Alex Jones blush, where she insinuated that Russia and China stand ready to “shut down the power grid” and gas lines during this current epic cold snap. As part of her ‘proof’ of this latest conspiracy, Maddow cites text from US Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, who lamented to Congress (as so many do these days it seems) this week that the US is ‘falling behind Russia and China’ in its cyberwarfare capabilities,’ (translated in Washingtonspeak: “please give us more funding for cyberwarfare projects and contracts”):
“Russia has the ability to execute cyber attacks in the United States that generate localized, temporary disruptive effects on critical infrastructure — such as disrupting an electrical distribution network for at least a few hours — similar to those demonstrated in Ukraine in 2015 and 2016,” Coats’ report says.
Of course, the unhinged Russiaphobe Maddow took this as further proof that the Russians and the Chinese are hell-bent on sabotaging gas pipelines and electrical grids in remote towns like Fargo, North Dakota, which will lead to mass casualties as Americans freeze to death this winter.
