Last night in New York, a UN Security Council resolution was passed by a unanimous vote, calling for a ceasefire in Syria.
The resolution calls for all parties to ‘cease hostilities’ in Syria for 30 days in order to deliver humanitarian aid and to evacuate those in need of medical care. However, terrorist groups like al Qaeda affiliates like al Nusra, and of course ISIS – are not covered by the agreement.
Watch as New York correspondent Caleb Maupin and 21WIRE editor Patrick Henningsen speak with RT International about some of the practical problems with implementing any meaningful ceasefire, and a fundamental lack of understanding by western officials like Nikki Haley and others.
